For more than 20 years, John and his wife, Patti, spent weekends at their Door County summer home on the shore of Green Bay, west of Sturgeon Bay. When they retired and Door County became their permanent address, their official status changed from part-time to full-time tourists.Writing on The Door began during the summer of 2022. John was planning a trip to North Central Wisconsin to welcome his cousin back from a Veterans Honor Flight.
