For proper function many of these units require the final lubricant to contain both a GL-5 lubricant and a fully active limited slip additive.Together these two finished lubricants provide the designed drive performance and protection needed by the gears. Standard practice has been to add these two lubricants together individually, usually from separate sources. This can leave open the possibility of improper treat ratios, possibly creating inferior driveline performance and protection.
